About Us

It all began as a child at the end of the 60s, at the age of four during the summer holidays in Praia do Vau. When I first saw a man with a full wetsuit enter the water, which made me wonder. After a while then the hunter did not take long to come to shore, he caught an octopus, then another and another ... I thought to myself: "When I grow up, I want to catch big fish like that."

Since I lived near the sea, I'd frequently go fishing with my father, it was the direct contact i had with the sea.

It was not long before I entered the water with a mask, a slingshot, or rather a broom stick and four teeth..., I then got myself fins, my friends and I were krazy about underwater fishing (kids stuff).

At the time underwater fishing was done without a wetsuit, we spent about 15 minutes in the water, followed by 30 minutes or more on the hot sand on or the rock pier in Portimão in the sun, to worm us up in the summer and winter. While we wormed up we'd tell stories and jokes about our adventures, this would go on for days, weeks, holidays, whenever the sea was good...Obviously I started to take home some small fish, the whole family loved it and I'd sell others to buy the desired material that I needed and put to good use for my underwater adventures... Always dreaming of other places and the smell of adventure was constantly hovering!

At 14 I did my first diving course level 1 * CMAS (I studied in the Netherlands). Scuba diving with bottles at this time was a luxury. I remember at the time my friends taking turns trying to breathe under water... The Cmdte Costeaux and his team from Calypso were our heroes.

Submarine hunting has always been a passion and the origin of everything.
Before long I started to participate in spearfishing championships, I was national champion (individual), national vice champino, several third place nationals and champion for teams during a decade. The utter lack of sportsmanship and ethics by FPAS (Portuguese Federation) made spearfishing competition stop.

Life is a continual learning, diving started to take it's place in my life, diving courses Diver level were a requirement, very delicious, and also diving instructor, which was followed by several courses of different specialties as an instructor, professional diver, technical diving, closed circuit diving, technical diving instructor, closed circuit instructor, up to intructor of technical diving instructors.

The sea was always a constant presence in my life, both personally and professionally, it would be impossible to live far from the sea.

All my family dives, my wife daughter and son.

"The sea calls to me... sometimes I say ... can you hear the calling of the sea... Listen... (I hear the sea ...)"
